- reviewed the proper directions of the letters 'b' and 'd' so that we can read and write them accurately. Have your child read the words, phrases and sentences below to see if they can quickly determine if the words begin with a 'b' or a 'd'.
- learned the new Lively Letter sound 'er'. We find this sound in the middle or at the end of words. Have your child read the words below.
- listened to the story 'Over and Under the Snow' and discussed what different animals do in the winter. Students wrote words and sentences about what specific animals do, over and under the snow, in the winter.
- reviewed King Ed words by playing a game!
- used base ten blocks (ones blocks and tens blocks) to represent numbers to 100
- learned about another property of objects - WEIGHT! We got to use the balance scales to compare two different objects, both with a partner and independently. We had to describe our object by saying "The ______ is heavier." and "The _______ is lighter."
- learned about the property of AREA and used our hands to compare the amount of space that different objects take up. Student walked around the classroom with partners and practiced saying which objects they chose took up a bigger or smaller area
- learned about the importance of giving people personal space and protecting our own personal space. We sorted pictures and situations and discussed whether these students were giving each other appropriate personal space!
