Hello families,
Today your child is bringing home their decorated bag full of Valentines. This bag should be kept at home and not brought back to school. This is a great opportunity to strengthen some math and literacy skills. Here are a few ideas you could do with your child and their Valentines:
- Read the words they recognize and try to sound of unfamiliar words
- Read the card together and listen for rhyming words (ex: friend/end, day/say, red/said)
- Read the names of friends
- Count how many Valentines you received
- Put them in a row starting with the shortest to the tallest
- Sort the Valentines in different groups (ex: all the ones with animals, all the ones with sports, etc)

- learned that movement includes three important parts:
- direction (up, down, left, rights, towards, backwards)
